Queensland Police have charged a 19-year-old following two armed robberies in Townsville that saw victims threatened with a machete on Sunday morning.
Police will allege that at around 7.45am on July 9th, a man brandishing a machete entered a home in Macrossan Street, South Townsville and threatened a woman. Officers say he demanded money and stole a wallet and fled.
Less than an hour later, Police say the same man entered a woman’s bedroom in Tramore Circuit, Burdell, again brandishing a machete.

The woman screamed and the man fled with two sets of car keys and stole both vehicles, Queensland Police said in a statement.
Police yesterday arrested a 19-year-old Hermit Park man at Chandler Street, Garbutt.
The male was charged with multiple offences and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.
