Sydney nurse facing new sex assault charges

A Sydney nurse has appeared in court today on additional charges following an investigation into alleged sexual offences that occurred at hospitals in the city’s north-west.

In a statement today, NSW Police said that in September last year, detectives from The Hills Police Area Command established Strike Force Rymer to investigate reports patients and a student nurse had been sexually assaulted at hospitals in Bella Vista and Kingswood.

Following inquiries, detectives charged a 42-year-old man. He remains before the courts.

“Earlier this week, investigators received a further report a 58-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted while awaiting heart surgery at a Bella Vista hospital in August 2021,” NSW Police said.

Following further investigations, detectives arrested the 42-year-old man at Castle Hill Police Station just after 8am today.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
