A second man has died following a two-vehicle crash near Yass yesterday.
Just before 2am, emergency services were called to the Hume Highway near Rock Lodge Road, Lade Vale, after reports a Mazda 6 sedan and a Pantec truck had collided head-on.
“Officers from The Hume Police District attended, and initial inquiries suggest a passenger in the Mazda got out and was struck by a second truck, travelling northbound. The 21-year-old man died at the scene,” NSW Police said.
The Mazda driver, a 23-year-old man, was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition; however, he died about 7.30pm last night.
The two truck drivers, aged 32 and 65, were uninjured and taken to Yass Hospital for mandatory testing.
“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is continuing,” NSW Police said.
