Rockhampton detectives are seeking public assistance following the armed robbery of a 73-year-old man in Park Avenue last week.
Initial police investigations indicate that at around 11.30pm on Friday, March 3, the man was sitting in his car at a park along Glenmore Street when he was approached by two people unknown to him.
“An altercation ensued, before one of the people produced a knife and stole the man’s keys,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The two people then left the scene on foot towards Knight Street in Park Avenue.”
The 73-year-old Koongal man sustained facial injuries in the incident and was taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from Glenmore Road between 11pm and 11.45pm to come forward.
