Popular country singer among flood victims

Two victims of the NSW flood crisis have been identified as popular country music singer, Marge Graham and fellow Lismore resident, Lorraine Hyman.

Ms Graham founded The Cedar Guitar Country Music Festival and would regularly sing in nursing homes as well as using her singing voice to raise money for tsunami charities.

Fellow performer and friend, Josh Powell Fussell (the pair are pictured together) posted a heartfelt tribute to Marge on his Facebook page, describing her as a “beautiful lady”.

“Marge Graham was a very well known and prominent Country Music Artist in Lismore. Marge ran the Cedar Guitar Awards in Lismore for many years plus regularly ran a quality Country Music show weekly at Lismore Workers Club. I worked with Marge at her shows for many years. I am both shocked and saddened to think we have lost her to the Floods. Marge lived in the last house on Casino Street on the Right Hand Side. R.I.P,” Josh wrote.

Both women lost in the floods yesterday were aged in their 80s and were tragically located inside their flooded homes.
