Queensland Police have released the name and image of a 51-year-old Kingaroy man who was located deceased in Gordonbrook Dam, South Burnett, on Saturday in the hopes of identifying the body of a woman located with him.
Police have identified the deceased man as Darryl Smith.
“Police are appealing for information as to the movements or last sightings of Mr Smith or his vehicle, a white Holden commodore Station Wagon, bearing registration plates 306BS3, which was located at the dam on Saturday,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“It’s believed that the vehicle was parked at the dam since at least Sunday March 13, 2022.”
Investigators have released a recent image (pictured) of Mr Smith they say was captured at the township of Wondai on 10 March.
“While post-mortem inquiries are still ongoing, investigators are still exploring all options regarding the matter but are not looking at the involvement of a third party in these deaths,” Queensland Police said.
