Victoria Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after the deaths of three people from suspected mushroom poisoning last week.
Police say four people were taken to hospital on July 30th after they became ill following a meal at a private residence in Leongatha the previous day.
Two Korumburra women, aged 66 and 70, passed away in hospital on Friday. A third person, a 70-year-old Korumburra man, passed away in hospital on Saturday night.
A 68-year-old Korumburra man remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Leongatha on Saturday.
Detectives also interviewed a 48-year-old Leongatha woman who was released pending further enquiries.
“The investigation surrounding the exact circumstances of the incident remains ongoing and police are liaising with the Department of Health in relation to the matter,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
