Queensland Police have declared a crime scene at Torquay following the death of a 75-year-old local man overnight.
Emergency services were initially called to The Esplanade at around 7:50pm following reports of an assault.
Upon their arrival, officers located the 75-year-old man who they say was unresponsive and suffering serious injuries.
“Emergency services attempted to revive the man, however, he was declared deceased at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement this morning.
“A crime scene has been declared, and investigations are underway into the man’s death.”
Investigators are appealing for anyone who might’ve seen anything suspicious in the Torquay area overnight or may have relevant dashcam/CCTV vision to come forward.
