Queensland Police detectives investigating the murder of 61-year-old Wendy Sleeman are appealing to anyone who may have seen or captured vision of a distinctive white Ford Laser station-wagon on the Gold Coast last Tuesday to come forward.
Detectives attached to Operation Victor Arum have released footage and images (pictured) of a damaged white Ford Laser bearing Queensland registration plates: 483 ZPG.
“The vehicle has considerable panel and paint damage, is missing a rear hub-cap and the left-hand mirror is held together with silver gaffer tape,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
It will be alleged that Wendy’s 30-year-old son, who has been charged with her murder, used the vehicle to travel from the South Brisbane area to the Gold Coast on the morning of the murder, January 24th, Police said.
Investigators believe the man travelled to Elanora, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach before returning to Bergamont Street, Elanora, where police seized the vehicle around 5pm that evening.
Investigators are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle – or captured CCTV or dash-camera footage of it – in particular at any service stations where fuel in jerry cans may have been purchased by the man.
