Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an assault on a tram that left a 58-year-old man with a broken nose.
Investigators have been told the Brunswick man got on the tram at the intersection of Weston and Blyth streets about 1.45pm on January 25.
“Two men approached the victim and a verbal argument ensued,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“The situation escalated and one of the men struck the victim to the face, fracturing his nose.
“The offenders then exited the tram at Stewart Street.”
Police have released computer generated images of two men that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
