Police appeal for scooter rider following assault of man, 75

Queensland Police have released vision of a man who they say may be able to assist with investigations into a serious assault in Labrador on Friday night.

Police say their investigations indicate that at around 6.10pm, a 75-year-old man was walking along Marine Parade when an unknown altercation occurred with another man passing on a scooter (pictured).

“The man on the scooter continued before he disembarked off his scooter and approached the older man,” Police said in a statement.

“He pushed and struck the 75-year-old man, causing the older man to fall and hit his head.”

The 75-year-old man was transported to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The other man remained on scene for some time before fleeing on his scooter, Police say.

Investigators are urging anyone near the western side of Marine Parade between 6pm and 6.20pm to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
