Officers from the Brisbane Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses following an early morning crash at Kallangur yesterday which resulted in a young boy hospitalised with critical injuries.
Preliminary information indicates that at around 6.25am two vehicles collided head-on on Old Gympie Road.
A 5-year-old boy, the passenger in one of the vehicles sustained head, chest and abdominal injuries and was transported to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
A 34-year-old Kallangur woman, the driver of this vehicle, sustained minor injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 73-year-old man from Dakabin sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, and has not already spoken with police, or any motorists with relevant dash cam footage, are asked to contact police.
