Police appeal after Sydney hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information after a fail to stop crash where a 66-year-old woman was injured in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 11.50am on Wednesday, Police say the woman was hit by a car as she crossed the driveway of a local business on Smithfield Road and Fitzgerald Avenue, in Edensor Park.

“The car left the scene without stopping,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The woman sustained injuries to her lower leg and was taken to Fairfield District Hospital for treatment.

“Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command attended the scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

“The car is described as a silver sedan with partial registration BVA,” Police said.

As investigations continue police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
