Pedestrian, 90, killed in highway crash

WA Police are investigating a tragic crash in Burswood yesterday that claimed the life of a 90-year-old pedestrian.

Police say that at around 7pm, a red Holden Trax Sedan driving north east on Great Eastern Highway and a pedestrian attempting to cross the highway were involved in a collision.

“The 90-year-old male pedestrian was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment but died several hours later. The 77-year-old male driver of the Holden was not injured,” WA Police said in a statement.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
