Paramedic stabbed in Campbelltown

A man has been arrested after a NSW Ambulance paramedic was stabbed in Campbelltown this morning.

Police say that at around 5.30am, officers were called to a fast food restaurant on Queen Street.

“On arrival, the male paramedic was treated at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“A man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he is currently assisting police with inquiries.

“A crime scene has been established, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers. Members of the public are urged to avoid the area.”

Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
