Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, has today been officially sworn in as Premier and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The move fulfills a commitment given to Paralympics Australia to make the change before the end of the year, the Premier said in a statement.
“Being Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games gives the recognition the Paralympic Games deserves,” the Premier said.
“I look forward to continuing to work together on this once-in-lifetime opportunity for Queensland and Australia.”
Deputy Premier Steven Miles has been sworn in as Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympic and Paralympic Games Infrastructure.
