Cumberland gets into NSW Seniors Festival spirit

Cumberland City Council is celebrating this year’s NSW Seniors Festival with events including bus trips and a golf day.

The Festival will run from 13 to 24 April, with a host of activities planned across the state.

“More than 15% of the Cumberland population is over the age of 60 and that’s set to grow over the next decade,” said Cumberland Mayor Steve Christou.

“Seniors make an enormous contribution to our community, so Cumberland City Council is pleased to offer a wide range of programs that enable their continued activity and participation in community life,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the important role seniors have in our community.

“I encourage you to visit our website (www.cumberland.nsw.gov.au) or contact Council to find out more about the full range of services we make available for our seniors.”

Cumberland council events during Seniors Festival include:

  • – Seniors bus trip to Symbio Wildlife Park
  • – Seniors golf day
  • – Seniors walking basketball
  • – Garden workshop
  • – Movie day

Council will also host two Mayoral Seniors Easter Lunches on Tuesday, 30 March and Wednesday, 31 March at The Holroyd Centre and The Granville Centre.
