Georges River Council is proud to be hosting its annual Wrap With Love Knit In on Monday August 12th with the Kogarah Knitters at Clive James Library and Service Centre, Kogarah.
The community is encouraged to join the event to knit, crochet and assemble cozy blankets for those in need.
Wrap With Love has been collecting volunteer-made blankets for those who could use some warmth since 1992. It began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm wraps to ward off hypothermia. In the past 23 years, Wrap With Love has sent more than 400,000 wraps to people in over 75 countries, including Australia, with the help of hardworking and generous volunteers.
Wraps consist of 28 squares and every square counts! Once complete the squares are sewn together to create one whole warm and sheltering wrap.
Open to all skill levels, members of the community can drop in at any time from 10.00am to 3.00pm to knit and assemble blankets. Donations of wool or incomplete projects are also gladly accepted.
