Motorcyclist, 76, dies following Toowoomba collision

A 76-year-old Wilsonton man injured in a two vehicle crash at Toowoomba yesterday has died in hospital.

Preliminary police enquiries indicates that at around 4pm on Saturday, a blue 2010 Holden Cruze sedan was travelling west along James Street when it collided with a black 2004 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle travelling east along James Street at the intersection of Hulme Street.

“The rider, a 76-year-old Wilsonton man, was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a critical condition where he died this morning,” Queensland Police said in a statement today.

“The driver of the sedan, a 26-year-old Withcott woman, and a 6-year-old passenger were uninjured in the incident.”

Any witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it, are urged to contact police.
