A 70-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash with a vehicle at Kureelpa in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast region this morning.
Police say preliminary information indicates that at around 9am, a black BMW K1300 motorbike was travelling east along Mapleton Road below the Dulong lookout when it collided with a white Ford ranger utility travelling west.
“The rider, a 70-year-old Sunshine Coast man was immediately assisted by the driver, however sustained critical injuries and died at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Kureelpa man was not physically injured.”Â
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
