Motorcyclist, 70, airlifted after crash near Scone

A 70-year-old motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after crashing his bike at Owens Gap west of Scone this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 11.30am following reports of a motorbike accident on a local road.

“Local NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived on scene and commenced treatment of the 70-year-old male rider who had suffered serious chest and back injuries after the fall from his bike,” the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service said in a statement this afternoon.

“The Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team further stabilised and prepared the gentleman for flight prior to being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further treatment.”
