Queensland Police have recovered a stolen French bulldog and $50,000 worth of illicit drugs in a raid on a Surfers Paradise unit yesterday.
Shortly before 4pm on Tuesday, Gold Coast detectives issued a search warrant on the Ferny Avenue premises where they located a French Bulldog named Mercedes that had been reported stolen from a residence on Old Burleigh Road at Surfers Paradise on May 15.
Officers also located large quantities of crystal methylamphetamine, Xanax, GHB and around $5,700 in cash throughout the unit, Queensland Police said in a statement.

A man and a woman, both aged 35 were arrested at the unit.Â
“While police were executing the search warrant another woman aged 59 years attended the unit and was detained by police,” Queensland Police said.

“A 35-year-old woman from Surfers Paradise and a 35-year old man from Tweed Heads have both been charged with five counts of possess dangerous drugs and one count each of supply dangerous drug, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act and possess utensil. Both are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.”
A 59-year-old woman from Surfers Paradise has been given a notice to appear for counts of possess dangerous drug and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 7.
Mercedes was reunited with her owner shortly after being recovered inside the Surfers Paradise unit.
