Man wanted over animal cruelty

Victoria Police have released an image of a man wanted over animal cruelty offences.

Police say the image was taken from one of two videos recently uploaded onto social media depicting acts of animal cruelty.

“A member of the public attended Horsham Police Station and showed police two videos showing a cat being injured,” Victoria Police said in a statement today.

It’s not known when or where the videos were filmed however they were uploaded to social media on February 27.

Police have interviewed a 19-year-old man in relation to one of the videos. The Horsham man is expected to be charged on summons with cruelty to an animal.

However they are yet to identify a different man, who is depicted in the second video.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or who has information about the incidents are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
