Man found hiding under house after alleged knife attack

Queensland Police have charged a 29-year-old man after they say he allegedly bashed another man multiple times to the head with a knife before fleeing the scene.

The alleged wounding incident took place in Deception Bay yesterday afternoon.

“It will be alleged around 12.45pm a man attended a business on Bailey Road and struck a man multiple times to the head with a bladed weapon before leaving the scene in a vehicle,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

A witness was able to supply police with the details of the vehicle which was subsequently located in Lockyer Street at Deception Bay.

Police located a man a short time later hiding under a house.

The 29-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of possession of dangerous drug (methylamphetamine and cannabis) and one count each of possession of drug utensil (glass pipe) and unlicensed driving.

He is expected to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court this morning.

Police say the 41-year-old male victim was not known to the other man and received a large cut to the side of his head and lacerations to his fingers.

He was transported to the Redcliffe Hospital for treatment.
