A man in his 50s has died following a suspected hit-and-run crash on the NSW Mid North Coast yesterday.
Police say that just after 7pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to Wingham Road, near Cedar Party Road in Taree.
“A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found unconscious and suffering serious injuries,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Manning Base Hospital in a serious condition, where he later died.”
Specialist investigators from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with initial inquiries suggesting he may have been hit by a vehicle that failed to stop and render assistance.
