Brisbane detectives have charged a man with murder after they say a 74-year-old man was thrown from a balcony in Yeronga yesterday afternoon.
“It will be alleged at 1.40pm police were called after reports a disturbance had occurred at a School Road unit and an elderly man was allegedly thrown over a first floor balcony, hitting the cement below,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“It will be further alleged the two men are not known to each other.”
The 74-year-old Yeronga man sustained serious head injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he later died.
A 49-year-old Yeronga man was detained at the scene and has been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
