A man has been charged over his alleged failure to provide proper care in relation to an elderly man who died on Sydney’s Upper North Shore in May last year.
Police say that on Tuesday 31 May 2022, emergency services were called to a home in Frederick Street, Hornsby, following reports that a 93-year-old man had been found unresponsive.
Police say the elderly man had suffered serious burns four days earlier.
“He was taken to Hornsby Hospital in a critical condition. The man passed away in hospital on Friday 3 June 2022,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death under Strike Force Cubes.
“Following extensive inquiries, a 65-year-old man was charged with refuse to provide necessities of life endanger life (DV) today.”
He is due to appear before Hornsby Local Court on May 10th.
