Man charged after throwing live chicken to alligators

A 57-year-old man has been charged by NSW Police after a chicken was killed at a wildlife park in Salt Ash this week.

Officers attached to Port-Stephens-Hunter Police District were told that on Tuesday, a man removed a live chicken from an enclosure at Oakvale Farm and Fauna World and threw it into a nearby alligator enclosure, where it was killed.

Yesterday, a 57-year-old man attended Singleton Police Station. He was given a court attendance notice for the offence of commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal.

He will appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court on February 5th.
