Man caught six times over limit

A 59-year-old man who was caught driving while allegedly six times over the legal alcohol limit has had his vehicle impounded by police in Reservoir overnight.

“Officers responded after numerous called to Triple Zero (000) alerting to them to an erratic driver about 9pm,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“The grey Toyota sedan was stopped Chaleyer Street by police and the 59-year-old male driver from Reservoir returned a positive evidentiary breath test of .313.”

The man’s vehicle was seized and impounded by police for 30 days at a cost of just over $800.

His drivers licence was immediately suspended, and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving, police said.
