A 90-year-old man is set to face court charged over alleged historical child sexual assault offences in Sydney’s south between 1984 and 1986.
In a statement, NSW Police say that in May 2023, detectives attached to St George Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of alleged sexual assaults occurring between 1984 – 1986.
Police will allege in court that in 1984, a boy then aged 6, was sexually assaulted by a man – then aged 50 – who was known to him – at an address in Hurstville.
Police will also allege that the same boy was again assaulted by the man in 1986, when he was 9 years old.
“Following extensive inquiries, about 4.20pm on Saturday 15 February 2025, detectives attended a premises on Stonelea Circuit, Dural, where they issued a 90-year-old man a court attendance notice for sexual assault – person under 16 years of age,” NSW Police said.
He will appear before Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 1 April.
