A 79-year-old man suffered a head injury after being dragged from his vehicle during a violent robbery in Charlton last night.
Queensland Police say the incident occurred at a business along the Warrego Highway.
Initial investigations indicate that at around 5.30pm, the man was in his parked Toyota Landcruiser ute at the back of the business before he was approached by another man, who then dragged him out of the vehicle before getting into it and driving off.
“The 79-year-old man sustained a head injury and was transported to St Vincent Hospital in a stable condition,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“Police attended and located a separate, abandoned vehicle at the business which has been seized for forensic examination.
“The silver 2017 Toyota Landcruiser utility with Queensland registration 01FWD remains outstanding, with it reportedly being spotted at Roma around 1:30am this morning.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
