Man, 77, suffers broken legs in Toowoomba hit-and-run

Queensland Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate into a hit-and-run incident at Mount Rascal, Toowoomba, this morning that has left a 77-year-old man with broken legs.

Police say a passing motorist raised the alarm just after 7am, after a man was discovered with critical injuries on Freyling Road, east of Mount Rascal Road.

“Police believe the man was struck by a vehicle between 5am and 6am today, which has failed to remain at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“The 77-year-old sustained broken legs and pelvis injuries and was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital and will be airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.”

Investigators are appealing to the driver or and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have CCTV/dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
