A 72-year-old Atherton man has been charged with murder following investigations into the suspicious death of a 65-year-old woman in Atherton yesterday morning.
Queensland Police say that at around 8.30am on April 30, emergency services were called to an address on Gordon Street.
“Police will allege a woman was located with a wound to her abdomen and was declared deceased at the scene,” Police said in a statement this morning.
“A crime scene was declared and detectives continue to work to determine the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death.”
The man is due to appear in Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow.
