Preliminary inquiries indicate that at around 2.35pm on Friday, a white Holden ute travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway crossed onto the opposite side of the road and collided with a black Ford ute.
“Police and emergency services attended, however the driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old Oonoonba man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 19-year-old male passenger sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
