A 57-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing in the state’s north-west early this morning.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Cossa Street in West Tamworth just before 2.40am today after reports a man had been stabbed.
“A 47-year-old man was found at the unit with a stab wound to his neck,” NSW Police said in a statement.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition.
“Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation. Following inquiries, and with the assistance of the Dog Unit, about 4.40am police arrested a 57-year-old man nearby.”
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station, where inquiries are continuing.
