A 52-year-old man will face court today after police seized $600,000 worth of illicit drugs from two hotel rooms in Sydney’s CBD yesterday.
Officers from Sydney’s Inner West Police Area Command established Strike Force Weismantle in August to investigate the commercial supply of prohibited drugs throughout Sydney.
During the course of the investigation, police have seized 4.9 kilograms of 1,4-butanediol, and 252 grams of methylamphetamine.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested the 52-year-old man in Commonwealth Street, Sydney about 10am yesterday.
A short time later, officers executed two search warrants at hotels in Wentworth Street and Bond Street, Sydney.

During the search warrants, officers located 500 MDMA tablets, 100g of cocaine, 3.2kg of 1,4-butanediol, 700g of methylamphetamine, more than a 1kg of cannabis, and more than $70,000 cash.
The drugs seized have an estimated potential street value of $600,000.
All items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
The man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with 23 drug offences.
The Burwood man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today.
