Victoria Police Air Wing crew members have come to the rescue of a a 56-year-old man who became stranded on a rock whilst fishing in Tarwin Lower yesterday.
The man was around 200 metres from shore at Bear Gully at 3.30pm and was fishing for approximately four hours, Victoria Police said in a statement.
“He noticed the tide come in around the rock and was unable to get back to the beach.”
“His friend was on the beach and called Triple Zero,” Police said.
Air Wing crew spotted the man and winched him to safety where the Mitcham man was checked by paramedics but did not require any treatment.
