In an effort to bring the community together and create a more sustainable city, Lake Macquarie City Council is proposing to expand its Sustainable Neighbourhoods Program.
“We initiated the program in 2008 to empower the community to act on local sustainability issues,” Council said in a statement.
“Sustainable Neighbourhoods has since grown into a self-governed community network of more than 250 volunteers who create practical projects for a more sustainable Lake Macquarie.
“We have the opportunity to renew or create two new Sustainable Neighbourhood Groups in 2022.”
Council is asking the community to complete an online survey to express their interest in leading the development of a new Sustainable Neighbourhood Group or to connect with an existing Sustainable Neighbourhood Group in their area.
Residents can Complete the survey before Monday 15 November.
