Keysborough man, 68, faces further sex assault charges

Victorian Police have laid further charges against a 68-year-old Keysborough man as part of their investigation into reported sexual assaults dating back almost 30 years.

The man was charged on 16 August with sexual penetration of a child under 16 years and indecent act with a child under 16. The 13 charges relate to three complainants and are alleged to have occurred between 1996 and 2004, Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Last week he was issued with a further seven charges in relation to a further two complainants who came forward following recent media reporting,” Police said.

Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad will allege the man came into contact with the complainants through his role at a Keysborough temple.

“Victoria Police encourages all victims of sexual assault and child abuse, and anyone who has knowledge of such a crime, to make a report.”

“Victoria Police is committed to investigating and bringing to justice those people who prey on children no matter how many years have passed,” Police said.
