Detectives have charged a 53-year-old woman with murder following the suspicious death of a man in Newmarket overnight.
Police will allege the woman, who was known to the victim, stabbed him when he returned to his Ward Street residence around 7pm.
“The 51-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“A 53-year-old Kangaroo Point woman, who was located at the scene, has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of going armed so as to cause fear.“
She will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
