Jindy cops hop to joey’s rescue

Jindabyne Police have come to the rescue of a joey after the tiny marsupial’s mother was fatally struck by a car near Crackenback in the NSW Snowy Mountains region yesterday.

The joey was taken to Jindabyne Police Station following the crash, where it was kept safe and warm before being transferred to local wildlife organisation, LAOKO, this morning.

“The Monaro PD has an abundant amount of amazing wildlife so please ensure when you are driving, especially at night, that you remain safe by slowing down and keeping a good look out for our native animals,” Police said in a statement today.

Well done officers – ASN.
