Transport Safety Bureau investigators are set to travel to the scene of a horrific helicopter crash that occurred in the Western Riverina region earlier today.
The male pilot of the chopper is in a critical condition after he crashed the aircraft while carrying out aerial spraying on a southern NSW sheep station near Deniliquin around 11am.Â
The helicopter reportedly crashed after hitting power lines on a remote location on the property, 35 kilometres north of Conargo.
As part of the rescue effort, emergency crews had to first remove the downed power lines before being able to free the pilot.
The man, who sustained serious head injuries, was treated at the scene before being flown to Melbourne Royal Hospital.
