Have you got your travel card yet?

Applications for the 2021 Regional Seniors Travel Card have opened through Service NSW – and it’s the final year the travel card program will be available to Seniors.

The program provides eligible seniors in regional, rural and remote areas with a $250 prepaid card to help ease the cost of travel for 14 months from the date of issue.

Seniors can use the travel card at certain retailers across Australia to pay for fuel, taxis and pre-booked NSW Trainlink regional trains and coaches.

To be eligible for the trial applicants must have reached the Age Pension age of 66 years, live in a designated regional area of NSW outside of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, and be receiving support from either Services Australia or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

This support includes receiving the Services Australia Age Pension or being a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holder, or receiving a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Age Pension, Service Pension, Disability Pension, or War Widow(er) Pension.

Applicants must also have received their pension or have held their health care card for at least one month.

Applications for the card can be made online at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-regional-seniors-travel-card.
