A female teacher has been charged with child sexual offences after being arrested by ACT Policing yesterday following an investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship between the woman and a male student.
ACT Policing said the ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations – Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT) received a report regarding the teacher in December last year.
“SACAT Detectives investigated the allegations, resulting in a search warrant being executed at a residence in Gowrie yesterday,” Police said.
“A 26-year-old woman at the residence was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of committing an act of indecency on a young person and one count of using a carriage service to send indecent material to a young person.”
The woman is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today.
