A 57-year-old man has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly being caught more than four times over the legal limit in the NSW south-west yesterday.
Police say that at around 8pm on Saturday, officers attached to Murray River Police District stopped the driver of a Holden Astra sedan travelling north along Kiewa Street, South Albury.
“Police spoke to the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 57-year-old man – before he was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result,” NSW Police said in a statement today.
“The South Albury man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.275.”
He was charged with high-range PCA and his driver’s licence was immediately suspended.
The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Albury Local Court on January 17.
