An 85-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s northern tablelands yesterday.
Police say that at around 5.25pm on Sunday, emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the Gwydir Highway near Matheson.
“The driver – a 85-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Armidale Hospital and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he later died,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Officers attached to New England Police District were notified of the incident and commenced inquiries. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.”
