Drive in is back for Western Downs

Queensland’s Western Downs Regional Council has announced the return of its free outdoor movie nights for Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles and Tara residents.

Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development, Councillor Kaye Maguire said outdoor movie nights have proven popular in the past, and this year’s events were set to be no different.

“The drive-in movies are a great way to unite our active vibrant communities through free social activities,” she said.

“Who doesn’t love curling up with a blanket and some popcorn for a night under the stars? Council is thrilled to bring this experience back to our communities.

“We’ve chosen a great movie that will appeal to all ages and the nostalgia factor will be a hit with the adults as they come together for a night of fun at the movies.

“I guarantee you’ll leave the night with more than a few songs stuck in your head!”

Councillor Maguire said the upcoming drive-in movies not only provided a great outing for families in the region, but also supported buying local by including community groups as vendors for food and beverages that can be purchased on the night.

Bookings are not required to attend the events.
