Dalby boy, 12, charged with gun, drug offences

Queensland Police have charged a 12-year-old boy following reports of a firearm being discharged in Dalby last night.

In a statement, Police said that at 6.42pm yesterday, officers were called to Nicholson Street in Dalby after a number of people reported hearing what were believed to be gunshots.

“During a search of a Nicholson Street property, police will allege two firearms and quantities of cannabis were located,” Police said.

“A 12-year-old Dalby boy has been charged with one count each of possess shortened firearms, unlawful possession of weapons, and possessing dangerous drugs.”

He is due to appear before Dalby Childrens Court on Monday, 13 April.

Police say no one was physically injured and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

As their investigations into the incident continue, Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has relevant vision to contact them.
