The Victorian Seniors Festival is back for another year and Corangamite Shire seniors are being invited to enjoy two fun, free shows.
Corangamite Shire Council is presenting the events to celebrate the Shire’s seniors and provide a memorable day out with friends.
Council’s Coordinator of Positive Ageing, Belinda Rowbottom said the first, ‘What the World Needs Now,’ would be at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown at 11am on Monday, October 16th.
“The show features the fabulous Melissa Langton who has performed cabaret shows in New York, Germany, Australia and New Zealand since 1991,” Mrs Rowbottom said.
“She has appeared in many major professional productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, We Will Rock You, The Pirates of Penzance, and many more.
In ‘What the World Needs Now’ she performs some of the absolute favourite songs of a generation as she takes the audience back to the swinging sixties.
“It will be an unmissable event with a light lunch to follow.”
On Wednesday, October 25th from 10.30am, Eric Read will perform a variety show at the Skipton Bowls / Golf Club.
“The show will feature family friendly humour, ventriloquism, music and plenty of laughs,” Mrs Rowbottom said.
“Eric is a long-time all-rounder – drummer, singer, songwriter, guitar and bass player, storyteller and comic who just loves entertaining and making people laugh.”
Morning tea will be provided.
While the shows are free, bookings are essential. Call Council on 5593 7100 to reserve your seat.
“If you need transport to the event, let us know when you are booking and we can arrange it for free.”
