Footscray Police are appealing for public help to identify a man who passed away in hospital in September.
Investigators believe the man self-presented at Footscray Hospital on 23 September. He subsequently died during an operation the following day.
The man had no personal belongings when he presented at the hospital and stated his name was ”Hung Nguyen”.
Following a number of enquiries, police are still to establish the man’s identity.
An autopsy has been conducted which indicated that the man died from undisclosed health issues.
Investigators were also told that he had no family in Victoria and possibly had an estranged brother living in Queensland however no further details were provided to police.
Investigators believe the man was aged in approximately his early 40s.
It is believed the man may have frequented the Footscray area before his death.
